I had given up on Coupon clipping. It was just too hard for too little return and so many of the things that I bought were store brands that I felt as though there was no way that I would get a better deal by doing the coupon thing. My sister convinced me to read this book. She has been telling me for about two years that I was missing out on a lot of great sales and deals. She shops pretty much the same way that I do so I decided to humor her and read the book. Well I am eating my words. She was right. The new coupon methods are much different and much easier and they are much more worthwhile than I imagined. If you have given up on coupons, buy this book because you will find that saving money through coupons is not what it used to be and finding sales and saving money is really different now and much easier.
I purchased this book and within four hours I had save double the amount that I paid for it. I would not have purchased it at all because I was convinced that coupons savings could only be had if you ate a lot of prepackaged and unnecessary food.
Today's couponing is definitely not just prepackaged food and it does not involve the clipping and time exhausting ritual of sorting that your mother did. Today there are lots of savings on milk, eggs, meat, organic foods and healthy foods.
I always shop at Kroger because I was convinced that Publix is much more expensive. Well come to find out, this isn't necessarily so. I was able to buy two 12 pound turkeys for Thanksgiving at Publix for the price it would have cost me to buy one at Kroger on sale (BTW, I have this big family that is convinced that small turkeys cook more evenly and are therefore more tender so I always by two, 12 pound turkeys instead of one 20+ pound turkey). Publix this week also had cheaper grain fed eggs, cheaper butter and cheaper organic milk.
The only way I would have known this is to follow the instructions in this book for quickly finding this information on the internet and quickly printing only the coupons that you will use. It turns out that there are easy sites that will do the work for you (give you the store name, sales available and additional coupons all on one site).
The author also guides you through the coupon savings to be had at places other than the grocery story. The holidays are incredibly shopping intensive. Now is a great time to save some money. Get this book. It is definitely worth the price.
Good source for beginners. There was some information I needed to know that made a lot of sense. Good quick read.

Has the basic information. I thought it would be more indepth but it gives some common sense principals. I wasn't all the way impressed
